Sacha’s first exposure to accounting began during her childhood years in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Growing up, she was closely involved with her grandparents’ business, helping with basic bookkeeping and reconciling accounts throughout her summer breaks. This early experience led to her decision to pursue accounting during her college years.

While studying at CUNY – Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, Sacha was involved in many programs and associations focusing on accounting, taxation, and community engagement.  A chief example of this was her role leading the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program (a program focused on filing tax returns for individuals who are low-income, senior citizens, disabled, or non-native English speakers).  She corralled a record number of her college peers to assist with this initiative.

After college, Sacha landed at New York Life as a junior accountant. She was excited about this new role – it allowed her to dig into the complexities of GAAP and STAT accounting and climb the ranks early on while balancing life as a new mom. During her time there, New York Life provided her with diverse and challenging roles.

After working in other STAT accounting roles at smaller organizations, including returning for some time to New York Life, she was ready for her next step.

Sacha joined Prosperity Life almost two years ago, growing into her current position as Assistant Vice President of Statutory Reporting. Here, she is known for her inclusive approach to decision making, staying connected and sharing information. She believes in the power of collective growth and encourages her team to share knowledge and perspectives.

Sacha’s personal philosophy (an African proverb) – “If you want to go fast, go alone. Drew was a seasoned tax professional with a solid foundation in accounting at mid and large-sized firms when he was offered the opportunity to lead the Tax and Treasury teams at Prosperity Life. His decision to embrace the role was driven by his learning mindset and desire to expand his capabilities to become a more well-rounded professional.

“When I interviewed for the position, I was very honest about my background in Treasury. At the time, we were still small and not complicated, so when Zac Jones, our CFO, told me he was confident that I would figure it out, I decided to take the plunge. And I am glad I did – it was an incredible learning experience.”

Nearly four years later, Drew is still thriving in an environment that offers the chance tackle diverse challenges daily. Drew’s story is a testament to adaptability, continuous learning, and the magic that happens when professionals step out of their comfort zones.

The Cristo Rey Network of schools aims to deliver a career focused, college preparatory education for students of all backgrounds with limited economic resources, integrating rigorous academic curricula with professional work experience and support to and through college. Cristo Rey’s mission is a beacon of hope and progress for students who may not have the financial means or educational background to access private, college-prep education.

We were compelled by their mission to not only educate but also provide real-world work experiences to students who are often the first in their families to consider college.

Three times a week, we welcome two bright students into our New York City location to handle some of our general office duties. From tracking desk use across our flexible spaces, to maintaining and restocking supplies around the office, and welcoming visitors to reception with incredible professionalism. As we get to know the students and the topics they are considering for college study, they can meet with some of our colleagues who specialize in those areas to ask questions or even shadow for a day. In this way, we have introduced students to actuarial science, finance, IT, and general business operations.

Our commitment doesn’t end with the school year. We take pride in seeing our Cristo Rey students grow, often becoming the first in their families to attend college. This program isn’t just about providing job experience; it’s about investing in students and showing them the unlimited options for their future.

Kristin started her career working in a law firm, building a client book and keeping track of billable hours. She quickly discovered her preference for working in-house after joining AIG, and then AXA Equitable. “It’s one thing to understand how the law affects business and advise as outside counsel, but it’s not the same as being in a business, working to achieve goals. Being in-house means we build something together – that’s what I find really exciting.”

Kristin finds that introducing a fresh perspective, or a hint of healthy disruption, serves as a spark for innovation. After just seven months with Prosperity, she says, “I get to be more than a lawyer here. It doesn’t matter who comes up with the next great idea, because we all have the same goal: to build the best version of this company.”

She also feels our leadership exudes both confidence in their expertise and appreciation for the knowledge and insights of others. “At Prosperity, every voice carries weight. Whether you’re a seasoned expert or new to insurance, your insights and ideas are valued.”

A Tribute to Danielle Kirrane

Diagnosed with ALS in the early months of 2018, Danielle Kirrane’s journey was marked by unwavering
determination and resilience against the terminal illness. Her battle, which spanned three courageous
years, ended in 2021, leaving a void in the hearts of her husband, Thomas, and their young daughter,
Annalisa, then 6. In the wake of their loss, The Danielle Kirrane Foundation emerged to honor her legacy
and give back to the community of first responders who supported the Kirrane family throughout the
multi-year journey. The foundation benefits the ALS Association of Greater New York, and also seeks to
directly uplift local first responders and their families facing the daunting challenges of ALS, brain
cancer, and other grave illnesses.

The Third Annual Danielle Kirrane Memorial Golf Outing

Prosperity life is proud to sponsor the Danielle Kirrane Memorial Golf Outing, now in its third year.
Nearly 150 local golfers joined the cause, many of whom were firefighters, first responders and
community members who knew Danielle personally. Prosperity Life warmly welcomed clients, trade
partners, and dedicated colleagues to participate and to learn more about ALS.

Jim Kirrane, Danielle’s father-in-law who recently retired from Prosperity Life as SVP, Head of Annuity
Distribution said, “This golf tournament is an opportunity for us to come together and remember
Danielle’s vibrant spirit. She was an incredible force for good in her lifetime, and we can help inspire
others with her name and story. It was an emotional day, seeing everyone there to honor her memory,
and knowing the kind of impact the money raised will have on the lives of people in our community
affected by ALS. I’d like to thank every participant, donor, and supporter for making this event a beacon
of hope for many.”

• When your policy is transitioned to the new administrative platform, EXL will send you a welcome letter providing a new administrative office mailing address for all your servicing needs. If you have more than one policy/contract, you can expect to receive a separate mailing for each policy you own.
• There is no change in the insurer – your policy will remain with the current Underwriting Company.
• These changes will not affect the terms and benefits of your policy. All contractual provisions and rights under your policy will remain the same.
• We will be transitioning to the new administrative platform and servicing address in phases over the coming year, depending on the type of policy you have.
• After you are notified that your policy has transitioned to the new platform, please use the new administrative office mailing address for correspondence. Our telephone and fax numbers will remain the same.
